Conquering the gremlins of anxiety
Some of the world’s most famous people deal with the fear of public speaking each and every day. How do they do it? How do they turn those butterflies into “No-Fear Public Speaking?”
Banish the gremlins of anxiety—I can show you how!

“All the world’s a stage, and we are merely players.” Shakespeare wrote those words four hundred years ago. Most people have no idea what he meant, except performers…people who’ve made it their life’s work to play for a living.

Alfred Hitchcock once said that all actors are children. I’m not sure if he meant that as a compliment or an insult, but in my estimation, it’s a pretty accurate statement. It’s like that old joke, “What’s the difference between an actor and a mutual fund? Mutual funds eventually mature and make money.”

All kidding aside, the question for directors, stage and operations managers is…how do you get the most out of your performers? How do you deal with people who essentially refuse to grow up? Hopefully the way you would deal with all children…with love, understanding and firm, fair discipline.
